Rental Options

It’s time to explore the Salish Sea!  And why not do it on your own?  From kayaks, to canoes, to paddle boards we have all you need to play on the water.  If land is more your liking, we can get you out disc golfing, geocaching, biking and even slip-n-sliding!  Challenge us with your rental ideas and we will row to the ends of the earth to figure out how to get you set up.

Our SUPs (paddle boards) and kayaks have been sourced out by top rated and tested companies.  SUPs range from extremely stable (used for SUP yoga) to test-your-skills levels. Our kayaks vary in length and skill level, ruddered or skegged.  To add some fun and character to our fleet, we had them custom painted by a local artist.

SUP and kayak rentals come with skills and safety lesson.

Delivery is available, with a transport fee.

Rental information:

For your adventure please bring the following:

• a hat
• sunglasses
• biodegradable sunscreen
• water shoes (we have limited numbers)
• snacks
• water bottle
• camera
• laughter and smiles

Please show up 30 mins before your scheduled time to allow for fittings and safety lesson.

Kayak, Canoe, and SUP rentals include paddles and PFDs (personal flotation devices) as well as all of the additional safety gear required by Transport Canada (throw rope, bilge pump or bailer, and whistle).

We ask that all multi-day kayak renters give friends or family members a float plan, and supply us with a copy for our records. No information submitted will be disclosed unless renters arrive late, at which point we will contact the primary contact person listed on the float plan. Cancelation and damage policy:

Dog Mermaid understands life changes due to illness, accident , weather, and people simply changing their minds.  We ask if you need to cancel please do so well in advance so as other guests may enjoy the equipment.

Cancelations are as follows:

Groups smaller than six people

• 48 hours notice for full refund
• 24 hours for 50% refund
• no refund after 24 hours.

Groups larger than six people

• 4 days notice for full refund
• 72 hours for 50% refund
• no refund after 72 hours

No refund for early rental returns.

If weather patterns change a credit will be given for future rentals.

To transport a vessel on the roof of your vehicle you will need to have foam pads and straps (or rope). Ratchet type straps are not acceptable as they cause damage to the equipment. Transportation gear available to rent dependent on availability.

Renters are responsible for damage to gear and equipment and will be charged accordingly.
